Kentucky Fried Chicken has begun selling a ‘Bitcoin Bucket’ which can only be bought using the cryptocurrency. The fast-food chain has started allowing Canadian customers to order deliveries using the digital dosh.
KFC Canada has also launched its own real-time price tracker on Facebook, which shows the current price of a poultry pail in Bitcoin. To help deal with the wildly volatile cryptocurrency markets, KFC has pegged the price of its bucket at $20 (£11.71) and will convert that into fractions of a Bitcoin whenever someone purchases a bucket filled with the battered and fried remains of dismembered chickens. It wrote: ‘Sure, we don’t know exactly what Bitcoins are, or how they work, but that shouldn’t come between you and some finger-lickin’ good chicken.’
