UNICEF launches unique cryptocurrencies-for-charity venture – a blockchain fundraising project which invites gamers to use their graphics cards to generate funds for Syrian children by mining Ethereum.
All those interested in participating are instructed to install Claymore, a mining software, which can then be used to generate ETH directly in UNICEF’s digital wallet “without lifting a finger or spending a Euro”. Gamers can turn the software on anytime they are not using their PCs, allowing it to access their computer’s processing power for mining ETH.
As per the campaign’s official website, so far the total funds raised amount to approximately 1291 Euros, with 2097.39 MH/s of computing power used. The project has had 522 contributors so far.
